Cinema Caviar is a discovery website. We help you find films and series available on streaming services you already use. We do not host, stream, or sell video.

Using the site

You can browse without an account. An optional account (email magic link, no password) syncs country and streaming choices, Caviar training, likes, dislikes, seen titles, and don't-recommend choices across devices. Lists and availability can be incomplete or out of date. We may change or pause the site at any time.

Data we show

Titles, posters, overviews, ratings, credits, and keywords come from The Movie Database (TMDB). Watch-provider data is provided by JustWatch. Direct On links, when available, come from Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night. Award labels used for Caviar training come from Wikidata. Cinema Caviar is not Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, or any other streaming service.

On links open the title page on the streaming service when we have a direct URL; otherwise they open TMDB / JustWatch. They are not a stream on this site. IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Letterboxd buttons are link-outs. We do not show their scores.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed, certified or otherwise approved by TMDB. Watch provider data is provided by JustWatch. Streaming availability information is provided by Streaming Availability API by Movie of the Night. Award information is from Wikidata and is available under the Creative Commons CC0 license.

Caviar picks

Caviar marks a small number of titles on the list you are already viewing. Until you finish Train your algorithm on an account, those marks follow an average of trained users (or a built-in prior if nobody has trained yet). After a complete Train, marks follow your answers. Like, dislike, and seen on a title refine your profile only after Train is complete. Don't recommend takes a title out of your Caviar picks without changing those taste weights. The title can stay in the ordinary list. Flair is not a numeric rating and does not replace TMDB scores.

Without an account we store theme, country, streaming services, and Caviar-picks / hide-seen filters in your browser (localStorage / essential cookies). Train answers before you sign in are stored against a guest cookie so you can save them to an account.

With an account we store your email, synced preferences, Train answers, like/dislike/seen/don't-recommend, an optional watchlist, flair color, and a derived taste profile on our server in the EU (Hetzner). Sign-in mail is only sent when you request a link (Brevo). We do not store passwords. You can log out, edit Train history, reset Train, or delete your account from Account. Deletion removes server-saved account data. A de-identified copy of a reset profile may remain in the community average.

Optional feedback stores a category, your comment, screen size, country, and which part of the page you pointed at. We do not store your name, email, or IP with that feedback. We may briefly see an IP address in memory to limit spam and to guess country on a first visit (not stored).

No ads and no marketing email. Advertising cookies would need a separate consent later.

Legal basis (GDPR)

Contract / requested service for account and Train. Legitimate interest for security rate-limits and first-visit country guess. Consent for non-essential storage if we add it later.
